DOMINO ALL'AMBASCIATA ARGENTINA, A ROMA

Inaugurated DOMINO on February 13, 2024 as a solo painting exhibition entitled “Rome and Buenos Aires, Combined Dimensions”, in Rome, at Via Veneto 7, at the Casa Argentina, the cultural venue of the Argentine Embassy in Italy.

Private evening as part of the visit to Rome by Argentine President Javier Milei.

130 guests were present, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Argentine Government, Diana Mondino, 34 prominent Argentine entrepreneurs, senior officials of the Argentine Consulate in Rome, Deputies, Ambassadors, and representatives of the Argentine Embassy to the FAO and the Holy See.

DOMINO is a polyptych composed of 16 paintings, arranged in four rows of four, with an overall size of 3 meters by 3 meters.
The composition of each painting continues into the neighboring panels—beside, above, and below.
No element within the paintings is accidental, and each painting, even when viewed separately, maintains its own internal composition.
Achieving this required extensive planning and a multi-phase execution technique, lasting more than a year and a half.

"In an unprecedented cultural event, the Argentine Embassy in Italy prepared to inaugurate two exhibitions in the city of Rome, as part of the activities scheduled around the visit of Foreign Minister Diana Mondino."

Together with DOMINO, three paintings specifically dedicated to Argentina are on display. Each of them evokes the atmospheres and lights of Buenos Aires, which have characterized Davide Querin's painting for many years.
The three paintings feature key elements of Argentine culture, such as Quinquela Martin, one of the most important Argentine painters of the early 20th century; a detail of the Palacio Barolo, a significant example of Argentine architectural art from the early 1900s; Carlos Gardel, singer and composer, one of the main interpreters of Argentine tango; La Boca; and other references linked to this great country, which in many ways is closely connected to Italy.

A second inaugural evening took place on February 23. This event, open to the public, was attended by collectors, investors, and people close to the artist. During the event, Chargé d’Affaires Diego Alonso Garcès, Cultural Attaché Denise Preguica Bozic, and the artist spoke. Afterwards, all attendees were invited to the screening room to watch the video, created specifically for the exhibition by videomaker Andrea Corda.
